I did not like the cliché Mexican figures like sombreros, skulls and cacti. So I tried to give it a more modern look.
With the info I had, a.k.a. a brand for jalapeños, I wanted to create a mascotte.
I always see gamer logos and sports team logos with the cartoon mascotte style,
bold figures with thick lines, illustrative, gradients... and I always wanted to make something in this style.

First I wanted to make a bold concept, a pepper that was farting fire. But I didn't like that one in the end.
I still wanted to reflect the strong taste of the peppers.
So I chose to go with a shredded pepper who looks like he comes straight from the gym.
